AKFEN GYO

  Since the founding of the Akfen Insaat company in 1986, AKFEN GYO has broadened the scope of its operations and has quickly emerged as one of the major infrastructure development companies with investors all over Turkey.   By establishing Tepe Group and TAV Airports in the late 1990s, when Build-Operate-Transfer model projects were common in Turkey, Akfen became a Holding in 1997. TAV Airports, which was founded in 1997, quickly completed the Build-Operate-Transfer agreements for Istanbul Airport and Ankara Esenboga Airport. TAV increased its international operations and grew into a major airport brand that represented Turkey to the rest of the world.

AKFEN GYO - Continuous successes over the years

  Akfen gradually brought its leadership from the air to the seas. In 2003, Akfen and US-based Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines won the concession for the Kusadasi Passenger Port. In 2005, Akfen and Singapore's Port of Singapore Authority (PSA), the top port operator in the world, collaborated to win the operating tender for Mersin Port. With the assistance of Tepe, Sera, and Scotland-based Souter Investments, Akfen took on the management of Istanbul Sea Buses (IDO) in 2011.   While Akfen signed off on significant projects in the air and on the water, it was also active on land and accepted the tender for the management of all vehicle inspection stations in Turkey from the TUVTURK company, which it founded in 2005 in partnership with the Dogus Group and TuvSud of Germany.   As part of its ongoing partnership with the Accor Group, one of the biggest hotel chains in the world with headquarters in France, Akfen entered the city hotel business in 2007. Since then, it has established hotels under the Novotel & Ibis Hotel brands in Turkey and Russia. When Akfen added its hotel to the TRNC to create Akfen Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), it assumed the portfolio of the new hotel and made it available to the public in 2011.   Akfen Holding, one of Turkey's exemplary communities with its management structure, human resources potential, and its policy of uncompromising transparency, continues to grow and increase Turkey's values.
