Üsküdar, which is a massive residential area on the Asian side of Istanbul, has the flamboyant Beylerbeyi Palace just below the Bosphorus Bridge. The Kuzguncuk neighborhood, surrounded by greenery, offers a quiet and town-style setting. In the area close to the ferry piers in the busy coastal area, there is the domed Mihrimah Sultan Mosque. Cafes with a view of the Maiden's Tower offer views of old Istanbul across the Bosphorus.
